Grant Guthrie went to Virginia Tech in 1966, and graduated in 1970. He and I were both in the Va Tech Scuba Club for those years. He married a Tech girl named Chris Daum, and they moved to Florida where Grant worked for the construction company that Chris's father owned.

Sometime in the early 70's I heard that Grant had been killed in a private plane crash while traveling from Florida to Newport News to visit his parents; the plane went down in a storm. [August 06 1974]

Here's a copy of the Press & Standard newspaper from Walterboro, SC with the story of Grant Guthrie (NNHS class of '66) plane crash. He was in the Virginia Tech Scuba Club with me back in the '60s.
