Mary Kay Stewart (Culebro) (1947-2013) - Class Of 1965
Mary Katherine Stewart Culebro passed away June 4, 2013, in Mexico City. She died peacefully in her sleep after a short battle with cancer. She was born September 24, 1947, in Montgomery, AL, to the late Robert and June Stewart. After graduating from the University of Alabama, she moved to Mexico for a summer and ended up living there until the day she passed away. Mary Kay dedicated her life to teaching and to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Adrian Culebro and her beloved sister Carol Stewart Harper. She is survived by her husband, Adrian Culebro; her daughter, Carol Torres (Luis); her daughter, Cristina Altschul (Carlos), and her granddaughters, Ana Karen Torres, Sara Torres, and Emma Altschul.
