Stories while at Lanier :
One of my favorites occurred when the Blue and White staff made its trip to New York City to attend school newspaper seminar at Columbia University. Eight of us we to Mama Leone's restaurant for dinner. The waiter asked, "Where are you kids from?" I replied, "Montgomery, Alabama." The waiter responded, "I have been offered a job down that way." I asked, "Where?" He replied, "Oklahoma City." This was a great example of the New Yorker's view of the rest of the country. Also that night, we were seated next to four very nice gentlemen. Turns out they were alumni of Sidnay Lanier High School in Macon, Georgia. Small world indeed.
