Annette Martin Whittaker, 74, of Destrehan, Louisiana, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015. She was born in Houston, Texas, January 25, 1940. She was the daughter of Minnette Davies Martin and William Daniel Martin, Jr. 

She was a graduate of Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama and worked as a Dental Hygienist specializing in children's dentistry. Annette was full of joy and laughter with a soul of precious love and compassion.

Survivors include: husband, J. Doug Whittaker of Destrehan, LA, daughters, Kathy Williamson Cowart of Birmingham, AL and Kelli Torreyson of Destrehan, LA, two grandchildren, Brandon James Taquino of Destrehan, LA and Charles Hughston Cowart of Birmingham, AL, and her sister, Betsy Martin Ledford of Mobile, AL, nephew, Richard Daniel Ledford, niece, LeighAnne Ledford both of Mobile, AL.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery in Auburn, Alabama. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home in Opelika.
