Jule Ann Huey (Spano) (1938-2017) - Class Of 1956

Jule Huey Spano was born May 15, 1938, in Montgomery, Alabama. She rose to heaven on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017. Jule was preceded in death by her father, Louie Hillman "Bud" Huey, and her mother, Mildred Trotter Huey.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jon Joseph Spano; children, Julie Spano McAlister (Ernie) and Judson Huey Spano (Leigh Ann); grandchildren, Rebecca Lee McConnell (Harrison), Taylor Hillman Spano (fiance, Tyler Hergert), and Justin Huey McAlister; and numerous dear cousins.

Jule was raised in Ramer, Alabama, and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School. She attended Auburn University where she was a member of Kappa Delta social fraternity and a proud member of the 1957 Auburn Cheerleading Squad. She earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and taught for a year before moving to Huntsville in 1960.

Jule was an active member in her Catholic faith. She served as a religious education teacher and later as a Eucharistic minister. Jule was the owner of the Art of Placement, and during her career, she filmed three segments for the Home and Garden Television Network and served many clients throughout the Southeast. Jule enjoyed time with her friends, playing cards, dominos, Supper Club outings, and many trips to Laguna Beach, Florida.

Special to Jule were sunsets with family and friends, where she always pointed out the sky was orange and blue, God's favorite colors. Jule will be missed by all and will be remembered for her famous sayings, "I'm loving life", and "God Bless".

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with a Mass immediately following. A private burial service will be held in Ramer, Alabama. (www.laughlinservice.com)
