I remember Mrs. Effie Green very well because she was my next door neighbor as well as my business law teacher. Occasionally, when the weather was unusually bad or rainy, she would offer us a ride to school. I rember Mrs. Green telling us that when she got her driver's license that all they asked was if you had 35 cents. She told us that she never had to take a driver's test or even prove that she could drive or that she was not blind. Effie Green was a pretty kind person, but she was way behind the times because she was pretty old even in 1961.
