Mrs. Ethel Golson was my senior English teacher and she once told me that I would never graduate.  When I got my diploma (in January 1962) I went up to her class room and interupted her class to show her that I did, in fact, finally graduate.  A little late, but I did it.

One day in class Mrs. Golson told us she had been pulled over by a policeman for going the wrong way on a one way street. She was backing down the street. When he asked her what she was doing she told him a black cat had crossed in front of her and she was backing up to the next corner to come to school another way. The policeman stopped traffic for her to get back to previous intersection.
