JONES, Charles W. "Fats", 74, died Monday, February 22, 2011 at John Knox Manor after a long illness. He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1954 and from the University of Alabama in 1958. He was a CPA and President of Ring- Around Products, Inc., 1973-78. He was also Executive Director of the Downtown YMCA. He was very active in local civic affairs. He served on the Montgomery County Board of Education, 1969- 74. In 1980, he became Executive Director of the Montgomery Lions Club Blue-Gray All-Star Football Classic. With insight and enthusiasm he led the Football Classic to new heights for 22 years. Survivors include: His brother, Robert Duke Jones of Montgomery; a son, Charles Paterson Jones (Sarah) of Greensboro, NC; a daughter, Beth Jones Loisil (Paul) of Niherne, France; two grandchildren, William Porter Jones and Madden Elizabeth Jones plus numerous beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 2416 W. Cloverdale Park at 2:30 pm, Friday, February 25th, with Dr. Lawson Bryan and Rev. Fred Fuller officiating. The family welcomes friends for a one-hour visitation before the service at the church. Honorary pallbearers include: Dr. James H. Alford, Richard Allen, D. Paterson Cope, Robert Andy Jones, Charles A. Stakely, William A. Williamson, John D. Yelverton.
