Carolyn Marie Smith Frantz, 89, passed away on December 26, 2023, in Waynesville, North Carolina.

Carolyn was born on March 3, 1934, in Montgomery, Alabama, to her late parents Emma (Luker) Smith and Andrew L. Smith. She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1952. While in Montgomery, she was a member of the Chisholm Baptist, Heritage Baptist, and Capitol Heights Baptist churches.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her brothers Judson, David, Andrew, Willard, and sister Emma.

Carolyn is survived by her three children, Andrew Frantz, Cammie Hallmark (Hugh), Timothy Frantz (Deanna), grandchildren Ethan and Willa Frantz, and Jason, Sheree, Heather and Bobby Hallmark.

Carolyn will be remembered for her welcoming smile, beautiful singing voice, love for her family, service to others, and deep and abiding Christian faith.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter thou into the joy of the Lord.”

A graveside service will be held on January 3, 2024, at 10:00 AM in Greenwood Cemetery.
