Martha Jo Murphree, 77, passed away November 27, 2005. She was born on March 29, 1928 in Montgomery, Alabama to Hilliard Gordon Carnathan and Essie Ola Colley Carnathan.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, John Madison Murphree, children, Sunni DeAgro, Joy Hess, Merri Benjamin, Jeff Murphree, Glee Cole, Kim Hope Piedad, Janet Faith Letchworth, grandson, David Hurley, sister Alice Jenkins, twenty grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Gaye Hurley.

Jo was a member of the Mayfair Church of Christ in Huntsville, AL and VFW Ladies Auxilliary. She enjoyed substitute teaching for years in Brevard County, Florida, and Madison County, Alabama.

Calling hours will be at South Brevard Funeral Home, 1001 S. Hickory St., Melbourne, FL on Thursday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Her funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 am with burial following in Florida Memorial Gardens.
