Frances Tullis (1923-2010) - Class Of 1941

TULLIS, Frances, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 24, 2010. She was born April 14, 1923. She was an only child born to Roger Bithune Tullis and Maude Allen Tullis. She is survived by two cousins: Mrs. Rebecca King of Columbus, GA and Mr. Reginald Vaughn of San Francisco, CA. Frances was born and raised in Montgomery, AL. She was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School and Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA. She was a faithful member of Church of the Ascension where she enjoyed serving on the Altar Guild until her health failed. She was also a member of the Sojourner's Club and The Junior League of Montgomery. A memorial service will be held at 2:00, Sunday afternoon, November 28, 2010, at Church of the Ascension, with the Rev. John Coleman officiating. Pall bearers will be Dr. Thomas Byrne, James Bennett, Charles Bonham, Weldon W. Doe, Richard Douglas, Robert H. Gould, Peyton Mathis, James B. Marshall, Jr., James H. McLemore, Rick Murchison, Pete Taylor, Dr. John Williams and Dudley C. Williamson. Crucifer will be William Bonner McLemore. Frances was a loving, caring person and will be missed by her many friends, neighbors and devoted care-givers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Frances to The Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 315 Clanton Ave., Montgomery, AL, 36104.
