Born in Lebanon Tennessee. Parents moved to Montgomery. They divorced in early 1950s. Moved to with mom & step-father to Prattville. Mom died in 1967 and I was moved to Montgomery at that point to live with aunts & uncles. Lived on both Goode Street and South Court Street. Worked at Bonanza Steak House on S. Blvd. & Hardees at Carter Hill Road. Went to former Patterson Trade school for two year accounting. First accounting job at Burford Equipment Co. on Mobile Hwy. Enlisted in Air Guard at Donnelly Field early 1970. Asked to fill full time job there in 1974 and did. Worked Accounting and later Budget office. Filled Civil Engineering Facility Manager job for over 3 years. Then became full time State employee for about 12 years in an accounting/budget position. Retired from that in Dec 2018.

While at the Prattville High School (before attending Lanier) I was in track as a sprinter/hurdler and did some wrestling. At Lanier Coach Billy Livings kept asking me to join the wrestling but I had no time due to work.
Mrs. Carnes' physiology class was my toughest class and cutting that baby pig up and labeling internal parts kept me out of going into sports medicine idea. But I then saw that accounting would get me in great offices with the CEO and beautiful ladies. And the rednecks could get out in the heat and play with the hand tools. That works.
Had no car until I earned the money after tech school graduation. Everyone else seemed to have one and a girl in the front seat. Oh woe was me.
