In Memory Of Our Poets

Albert "Al" Sim Butler (1951-2017) - Class Of 1969

Albert Sim Butler passed away early Thursday morning. Al was born in 1951 in Montgomery to Sheriff Mac Sim and Dot Butler.

Al is survived by his loving family: Sim and Rachel Butler, Meg and Celie; T.R. and Claire Butler, Elizabeth and Frances; and Bill Butler; as well as his brother Phil and Virginia Butler, and sister Mary Lou and Joe Lambert.

Above all else, Al Butler was a man who understood the immense value of human connection, and Al never met a stranger. A loud laugh, a quick friend, a passion for life; these things will be his legacy. His love of the outdoors was most keenly felt in the presence of his friends, children, and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Forever Wild or the Alabama Wildlife Federation.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 23, with visitation one hour prior to the service at
First United Methodist Church
2416 West Cloverdale Park
Montgomery, AL 36106.
