Melanie Kondrath Moore passed away on June 18, 2023, at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Moore, her parents Norbert and Helen Kondrath, and her brother Robert Kondrath. She is survived by her children Kenny Moore (Brenda) and Michelle Smith (Randy); grandchildren Jordan Moore, Drew Wade (Morgan), Chandler McDaniel (Matt), Megan Usry (Parker), Justin Webber (Allie), Brent Moore, Madison Watson (Evan), and Parker Smith; great-grandchildren Jenna Cavanaugh, Miles and Emery McDaniel, Charlotte Webber, and Stallings Wade; and sister Dixie Barkley.

Melanie was born in Zanesville, Ohio on March 29, 1942, but moved with her family to Montgomery, Alabama at age 6. She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and went on to graduate from University Hospital Nursing School in Birmingham (now UAB). She began her career as a registered nurse in 1963. Later that year on September 14th, she married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth. They spent the next 50 years raising their family and building a beautiful life. For the last 10 years, she took great joy in spending time with her growing family and tending to her gardens at her home in Hope Hull, Alabama.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
