Bern Smith (1976)
Steve was in Ceil Mills ' English class. We were paired up to do a verbal book report on "2001 A Space Odyssey", the Monday following the weekend he was killed. I had not read the book, but Steve provided enough information for me to complete the report. On Monday, Ceil allowed me to make a written report rather than a verbal one, considering the circumstances. I went to the funeral. It's still vivid in my mind to this day.
