In Memory Of Our Poets

Betty Lou Yates (Carroll) (1972-2014) - Class Of 1947

Our beloved mother and grandmother went in peace to our Lord Jesus Christ on March 22, 2014. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on March 7, 1927. She was a Charter and lifelong member of Heritage Baptist Church. Her Lord, her church, and her family were her life. She hurts no more and she finally gets to play 3rd base again with her softball friends that went before her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Everett Yates, Sr., her mother Bessie Oliver, and her husband Ralph Carroll. She is survived by her children, Michael Carroll, Barbara Weeks, and Barry Carroll (Pam). She also has nine grandchildren and seven great-grandsons. Surviving is her loving brother, Everett Yates, Jr., whom she loved so much.

We will remember that twinkle in her blue eyes and her smile that lit up the room, but we will always remember how much she loved the Lord. Her celebration of life will be at Heritage Baptist Church on Thursday, March 27 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. for one hour before the service. Her final resting place will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family requests that in place of flowers, we would appreciate your support to the Deacon Benevolence Fund at Heritage Baptist Church or Lake Martin Hospice of Wetumpka, Alabama who took care of and gave their love to her in her final days.
