In Memory Of Our Poets

Frances Duane Bishop (Williams) (1944-2023) - Class Of 1962

Frances Bishop Williams, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 19, 2023. Frances is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Wayne Howard Williams, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John (Mary) Bishop, her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Bleacher (Marjorie) Williams, and her son-in-law, Jerry McGlone.

Frances spent the younger years of her children’s lives as a stay-at-home Mom. She was voted Clayton County Georgia “Homemaker of the Year.” As her children grew, she developed an interest in real estate. Frances was a realtor for over 35 years. She was recognized with several awards and officer positions. She was selected as Realtor of the Year and was the Women’s Council of Realtors President to list a couple.

Frances’ favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren, Cole and Jordan. She loved tailgating, boating, and attending various sporting events every time she could.

Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m., with graveside services to follow at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Derek Frost.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Williams McGlone, son and daughter-in-law, John Howard Williams and Lisa Jackson Williams, and her beloved grandsons, Cole and Jordan Williams.

Frances leaves behind on Earth a host of family, friends going back to school days, new friends, and so many wonderful caregivers. Frances was a beautiful person, inside and out. We are all blessed to have known and loved her.

A favorite quote of Frances was “If you’re happy and you know it, say Amen." She is most definitely at His side saying “Amen” and watching over all of us.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any love gifts be donated to either the Elmore or Montgomery Humane Shelter.
