Mrs. Dorothy K. Golab (Science, Biology, And Physiology 1967 -1980s)

Dorothy Kreis Golab, 89, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017. Born in Montgomery, Alabama to Lessie Main and Jacob Martin Kreis, she was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 55 years John Edward Golab.

Mrs. Golab attended public school until the 11th grade and then graduated from the Margaret Booth School. She served as an assistant clerk of the House of Representatives from 1965 to 1966, then returned to Huntingdon College in 1963 and graduated in 1967. She began teaching biology and physiology at Sidney Lanier High School where she attended the 10th grade. She continued teaching until her retirement in 1988.

Mrs. Golab is survived by two children, Elizabeth G. Ruzic (Walter) and John Martin Golab (Rena), four grandsons, Wade Mitchell (Melissa), Fairhope, Alabama, Jake Golab (Jessica) Birmingham, Alabama, Matthew Golab( Christine ) Birmingham, and Jonathan Golab (Mandy), Auburn; one granddaughter Bailee Golab and three great grandsons Grayson Mitchell, John Braden Mitchell, and Harrison Blue Golab, three great granddaughters Caroline Blue Golab, Mary Catherine Elizabeth Golab, and Klara Elizabeth Golab, three step-grand sons William Franklin Ruzic (Molly Jennings), Brewton, Alabama, three step-great-granddaughters Grace Caroline Ruzic, Margaret Steely Ruzic, and Catherine Jennings Ruzic, Christopher Neil (Alison) Ruzic and their children Christopher Cade and William Tyler Ruzic of California, Walter Blaz (Andrea) Ruzic, Jr. and their children, Navy Bay Ruzic and Perry Blaz Ruzic of Tennessee.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Church of the Holy Spirit with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM, with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
