For years Julia was a mover and a shaker in the Pike Road community. As a charter member of the Pike Road Civic Club, she was a visionary instrumental in spearheading numerous community projects, including renovations to the historic Marks House for the Pike Road Community Center and in organizing the Pike Road Arts and Crafts Fair. In 2007, she received the Montgomery Area Council on Aging (MACOA) Senior Achievement Award. For many years she was a dedicated member of the Woodland Methodist Church choir. Julia was an inspiration, and she cherished time to laugh, cry, and sing. She was truly a blessing to her family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Woodland Methodist Church, M.A.C.O.A., or the charity of one’s choice.
