Carl Edmond Head, Sr. (1929-2016) - Class Of 1949

Carl Edmond Head, Sr, 87, entered peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 22, 2016, at his home in Montgomery, AL. He was born on January 26, 1929, in Montgomery, AL, to Obie Thomas Head and Mamie Griggers Head. He was a lifelong resident of Montgomery.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Miriam Epps Head; a daughter, Cindy Brown (Neil); three sons, Carl Head, Jr. (Gail), Tommy Head (Terri), and Tim Head (Jen); a sister, Sarah Mae Head; 13 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Obie Head, Jr.

Accepting Christ as his savior at age 10, Carl, along with his sister, was the oldest continuous member of Eastmont Baptist Church and was a life Deacon. He was a general contractor and well respected in the construction industry. He served 25 years on the City of Montgomery Planning Commission, as well as 15 years on the Board of Adjustments. He loved his family and music, especially singing with his four children.

Visitation will be 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2016. His Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 AM, both at Leak Memory Chapel. Pallbearers will be his grandsons; Bryant Brown, Taylor Head, Carl Head, III (Trey), Brian Head, Andy Head, and two great grandsons, Caleb Green and Collin Kite. Honorary Pallbearers will be Julian Alford, Durham Cornette, Roy Hines, Mike Sealy, James Blake, and Titus Bartlett.
