Lore Henderson Poundstone passed away peacefully on January 6th, 2017 at the age of 88. She is survived by her children: Wylie Poundstone, Jr., Haygood Poundstone, his wife, Beth, and Son-In-Law "Skip" Parks (Nancy) and one sister, Abbie Taylor; grandchildren Lee Parks (Alexandrea), Wylie Parks (Hilary), Glenn Sylvest (Glenn), Blair Parks, Jack Poundstone, Taylor Empey (Ian) and Elizabeth Poundstone; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also loved three women as if they were her daughters, Emelyn Sullivan, Mimmi Mathis and Linda McLemore. She was preceded in death by her husband Wylie Poundstone, Sr., her daughter Lore Parks, and her parents Joseph and Mary Lee Henderson. Thank you to her loving caregivers at Oak Grove Inn and Hospice Of Montgomery, especially Hannah Bear.

Lore was born in Andalusia, Alabama and attended Sidney Lanier High School. She married Wylie following her graduation and remained married to him for 65 years until his death in 2014. She loved the Lord first and foremost and her relationship with Him was paramount to everything. She attended First Baptist Church and cherished her time there with her Sunday School Class. Secondly, she loved being a mother and loved her family and so many friends unconditionally. She also loved the women of her Sewing Club who she faithfully met with for lunch every other Friday for over 60 years. She will leave a lasting legacy of not only how to live in grace but how to die in grace.

A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, Montgomery, Alabama on Tuesday, January 10th at 2:00 pm with Dr. Jay Wolf officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be sent to:
