Thomas "Tom" Richard DeBray, Sr. (1955-2013) - Class Of 1973

Thomas Richard DeBray, Sr., a resident of Montgomery, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2013. Mr. DeBray was preceded in death by his son, Harry Blaylock DeBray.

Mr. DeBray is survived by his children, Thomas Richard DeBray, Jr. (Leighton) of Birmingham, and Mary Hendon DeBray of Nashville, Tennessee; his parents, Jananne B. Vanderstaay of Alexandria, Virginia, and F. Richard "Dick" and Sydney DeBray of Montgomery; his brother, James C. "Jim" DeBray (Sherry) of Montgomery; his sister, Cissy Agboatwala (Sohail) of Troy and Cille Henderson of Troy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. DeBray was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he also taught the Wesley Men's Bible Class. He was a practicing attorney in Montgomery. Mr. DeBray was originally from Troy, Alabama, and he graduated from the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama School of Law. At the University, Mr. DeBray was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity, Jason's, and Omicron Delta Kappa.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to either the Harry Blaylock DeBray Memorial Scholarship Fund at AmeriFirst Bank, 8165 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36116 or the Salvation Army at P.O. Box 4839, Montgomery, Alabama 36103.
