Thomas Preston Allen, Jr. (1924-2012) - Class Of 1944

Mr. Thomas Preston Allen, Jr., 87, of Sequim, Washington died of age-related causes Sunday, July 8, 2012 in Seattle, Washington. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama on November 25, 1924 to Thomas Preston Allen, Sr. and Birdie Harris. He served in the U. S. Marines. Attending Wichita University, he received a Bachelors Degree in 1950. On December 18, 1947, he married Jeannine Yvonne Tannehill in Wichita, Kansas. Following his military career, he worked in Parks & Recreation. His last position was Director, Board of Park Commissioners, 1975-1984 after which, he retired.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elizabeth (George) Gildersleeve.

He leaves to cherish his memories, spouse, Jeannine Allen; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Preston (Rosemary) Allen, III (Trip), Seattle, WA; daughters, Deborah Lynn Ferguson, Sequim, WA; Jena Marie (Jeff) Olsen, Chicago, IL.; sister, Dorothy Marie Allen, Sitka, AK; grandchildren, Shawn Penner, Wichita, KS; Jason Ferguson, Anchorage, AK; Rebecca Allen, Seattle, WA; Michael Allen, Seattle, WA; great grandchildren, Colten Penner, Wichita, KS; Chase Penner, Wichita, KS.
