Louis M. Collins, Jr. (1926-2010) - Class Of 1942

Louis M, Collins Jr., 87, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010. Mr.Collins was born February 16, 1926 to Louis M. Collins and Marie C. Collins. Mr. Collins attended Lanier High School, the Hurt Military School, Starke University School, and Marion Institute; also, Mr. Col­lins attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Huntingdon College in April of 1956. Prior to his grad­uation Mr. Collins served in World War II with the United States Army, being honorably discharged and separated from the Headquarters Com­pany, Yokohoma, Japan.  Mr. Collins was honor­ably discharged from the United States Air Force, Sep­tember 4, 1953. After his dis­tinguished military service and graduation from Hunt­ingdon College, Mr. Collins was employed with several companies and ultimately re­tired from his service with the Social Security Administration. A Memorial Service is sched­uled, Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 12:00 p.m., Southern Memorial Funeral Home Cha­pel, 3154 Highland Avenue, Montgomery, Alabama with cremation following.  Visita­tion is 11:00 am immediately prior to the memorial service. Mr. Collins was formerly mar­ried to Sara S. Collins and they are the parents of two children, Mark Collins (Virgi­nia) and Patricia Bozeman (Alabama). Mr. Collins was preceded by his parents and only sister, Millie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity.
