Buford was born in Panama City, FL on April 5,1914. His family moved to Montgomery when he was a young teen. He had a younger sister, Dorothy (Miller), and younger brother, Jack. Buford married Doris Burgess (1917-2004) and had three children; Ann (1937-2002), Linda (1945) and Ronald (1946). He worked for Solomon Brothers Wholesalers on Commerce Street in Montgomery for several years. When his father died he took over the family grocery store on Oak Street, Montgomery. Sadly, Buford passed away of a heart attack at age 39 on August 7, 1953. He is buried in the family plot in Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery. Buford was a talented artist and woodworker. He was a fine gentleman and is missed by his family and loved ones.
