James "Jack" Blue (1927-2014) - Class Of 1945

James "Jack" Blue, age 87, of Weaverville, died Saturday, December 6, 2014.

Mr. Blue was born February 21, 1927 in Montgomery County, AL. He graduated in 1945 from Sidney Lanier High School and was a graduate of Auburn University with a Master's degree from Georgia Tech.

Mr. Blue was a Veteran of World War II, the Korean War and in Vietnam, having served our country for twenty-four years in the United States Air Force. He was a son of the late James J. Blue Sr. and Sarah Smith Blue and husband of the late Dorothy Singleton Blue, who died in 1993.

Surviving are his daughter, Danette B. Parker and husband Scott of Greensboro, NC and his son, James R. "Jim" Blue and wife Randi of Columbia, MD; four grandsons and their families.

His graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2014, at West Memorial Park, Roberts Street, Weaverville.
