Walter G. Alford, 71, of Hudson, Florida, died Monday, February 5, 2007, at Marliere Care Center, New Port Richey.

Born in Montgomery, Alabama, he arrived in the area in 1966 from Montgomery. Walter was a retired storekeeper employed by General Telephone Company. He was a member of the River Road Church of Christ in New Port Richey.

Walter is survived by his wife, Mary Alford of Hudson; his son, Walter Gregory Alford of New Port Richey; his daughter, Karen Alford of Hudson; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
