Cora Boyd Taylor (Laing) (-2011) - Class Of 1943

LAING, Cora Taylor, a resident of Montgomery, Al passed away Thursday, Feb 24, 2011. Mrs. Laing was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. Funeral services are to be held Tuesday, March 1, 2:00 PM at St. Mark's United Methodist Church with Rev. Lennie Howard; Rev. Michael Laing will be assisting. Visitation will be at Leak- Memory Chapel, Monday, Feb 28 at 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Mrs. Laing was preceded in death by her parents, T. H. Taylor and Leona Boyd Taylor; brother, T.H. Taylor, Jr. and sister, Mary Ceil Watson. She is survived by two sons, Daniel H. Laing, Sr. (Linda) of Richmond, Va. and Michael T. Laing of Ansley, NE.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Laing was employed by Sears as an Advertising Art Manager and by the Advertiser-Journal as an artist. She graduated with honors from Sidney Lanier H. S. and was a very well-skilled artist, Garden Club member and member of the United Methodist Women of Normandale Methodist Church. She also taught Sunday School enjoying children of all ages. She made choir robes and assisted in other ways in churches wherever they lived in their many life-long journeys. In final years, Cora and D.H. were members of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
