Rene was rare and unique. He was brilliant, and made it count. At Auburn, he helped create WEGL. It may be a 3000 Watt powerhouse today, but back then it was just a 10 watt mono station operating out of a room at Haley Center. It was a privilege to have known him. RIP, Rene!
