Mrs. Mary Vee Urso Moore (English 1955 -1957)

Mary Vee Urso MOORE, died October 1, 2006 in Pensacola, Florida, after a brief illness. She was born in 1909 in New York City, grew up there and was a graduate of Syracuse University.  In 1936 she married Earl B. Moore, who was from Alabama, and in 1943 they moved to Millbrook, Alabama. She began her teaching career of more than 35 years in New York City, and taught at Deatsville, Holtville, Autauga County and Sidney Lanier high schools in Alabama, and King high school in Tampa, Florida.  After retiring from teaching in Tampa, Mary Vee returned to Milbrook where she was an active volunteer at the Prattville hospital, the Alabama State Archives and the Montgomery Zoo.  She lived in Azalea Trace, a retirement village in Pensacola, Florida, for the last ten years.  MaryVee was preceded in death by Earl B. Moore, her husband of 57 years.  She is survived by her son, Arthur E. Moore (Mary Jane) of Pensacola, Fl., daughter Toni-Lee Moore-Shields (Bobby) of Ridgewood, N. J., grandchildren Rachel Moore of Gulf Breeze, Fl., Heather Moore of Pensacola, Fl., Brandon Wright of Kodiak, Alaska, Maela Wright of Virginia Beach, Va., great-granddaughter Christina Caston of Pensacola, Fl., brothers-in-law Mason Marvel (Audrey) of High Springs, Fl., Damon Marvel (Jean) of Millbrook, Al., and numerous nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held November 11 at 1 PM at Brookside Funeral Home in Millbrook, Alabama.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
