CRUMPTON, Robert Bozeman, age 80, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at his home in Montgomery, AL. Mr. Crumpton was a 1944 graduate of Sidney Lanier High School and a 1949 graduate of Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) majoring in Building Construction. He was a former Base Civil Engineer with Maxwell Air Force Base and was the former State Building Commissioner for the State of Alabama. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Montgomery and an active member of the Tower Sunday School Class. Mr. Crumpton was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and a very active longtime member of the Dixie Lion's Club of Montgomery, AL. He was also a member of The Heritage Club as well as the First Monday Mornings Retired Engineer's Club and member and past president of the Society of American Military Engineers of Montgomery. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2007, 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Montgomery with Dr.Karl Stegall officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Brantley, Jackie Bushman, Flynn R. DuBose, Jr. Ray Evans, Joe Hopper, James K. Lowder, Howard Snider and W.Olin Vinson. Honorary pallbearers will be L. Ray Bozeman, Roy Browder, Frank T. Hayes, & Members of the Tower Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Crumpton is preceded in death by his parents, Clay F. Crumpton and Grace Bozeman Crumpton. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years: Sara Grogan Crumpton; one daughter: Cara Mia Pugh (Steve) of Auburn, AL; one son: Robert Bozeman Crumpton, Jr. (Hope) of Montgomery, AL; four grandchildren: Sara Elizabeth Crumpton Worley (Mark) of Montgomery, AL, Robert Bozeman Crumpton, III (Libby) of Birmingham, AL; Katelyn V. Braswell of Mobile, AL & Frances T. Braswell of Auburn, AL; and two great-grandchildren: Grace Elizabeth Worley of Montgomery, AL & Harris Bozeman Crumpton of Birmingham, AL.
