Janice "Jan" Kolb (Hall) (-2010) - Class Of 1965

HALL, Jan Kolb, beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, sister-in- law, and friend, went to be with her Savior on Thursday, August 19, 2010. She was a lifelong resident of the Montgomery area, moving to Hope Hull after her marriage to Laslie Hall in 1968. She graduated from Auburn in 1969, and earned a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from AUM after starting her family. Jan was a teacher and guidance counselor for over 27 years, serving at Hayneville Road, Bellingrath, Hooper Academy, BTW Vocational School, and Houston Hill. Jan and Laslie raised two exceptional daughters together, Ashlie Hall Koterba & Amy Hall Belcher. In addition to her husband and daughters, Jan is survived by her grandchildren, Courtney & Caitlin Koterba; Mason & Elizabeth Belcher and sons-in-law, Bob Koterba & Michael Belcher. She leaves her sister, Sheila Kolb Cathey; brothers-in-law, Garry Cathey, Tony Hopper, Dwight Davis, Tom Harbin & Bryan Clark; sisters-in-law, Iva Kate Hopper, Patsy Davis, Sarah Ellen Harbin & Cindy Clark. She leaves many loving nieces and nephews: Laura & Rachel Cathey; Lisa Bagents & Lance Hopper; Everlie Bolton, Tiffany Dean & Brittany Ashley; Josh & Ben Harbin and Casey & Cameron Clark. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Felix and Mittie Kolb. Jan was selected Volunteer of the Year at Save-A-Life in 2009, having served there for many years as a volunteer counselor. She was a faithful and active member of Frazer Memorial UMC of Montgomery, especially her Women in Christ Sunday School Class. A celebration of Jan's life will be held at Frazer Memorial UMC of Montgomery, at 3:00pm on Saturday, Aug. 21st. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00pm in the Atrium. Pallbearers will be the Frazer Men's Sunday School Class. There will be a private family burial. Contributions are welcome at Save-A-Life (380 W. Mendel Prkwy, Montg 36029), Frazer Memorial UMC, or charity of choice.
