Elizabeth Eloise "Libby" Byrne, 64, a lifelong resident of Montgomery, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 following a brief illness. A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, September 24, at St. John's Episcopal Church at 11:00 AM by the Rev. Evan Garner. Burial will follow in the family plot at Oakwood Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Haynes C. Byrne & Margaret Jenkins Gibbons Byrne and a nephew, Steven Zachary Foster. She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Graham Byrne and Laura Katherine Byrne Morgan; a brother, Haynes Crawford Byrne Jr.; a nephew, Samuel Isaac Morgan; a niece, Laura Elizabeth Morgan; long-time family friend, Lillie Howard Day, and best friend, Cindy Russ, all of Montgomery. Ms. Byrne was a graduate of the University of Alabama and held a master's degree in social work. She used her training to help others during a long career spent in the health care industry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Montgomery Humane Society or to the charity of one's choice

Libby and I were classmates and friends in High School and Junior High. Although life and time carried us in our own direction, I will remember her in my prayers and will make sure she is remembered in our CHURCH Pray Group. Libby was a very fine person and will be missed.
