In Memory Of Our Poets

Ted Freeland (1945-2014) - Class Of 1964

Ted Freeland, passed away on February 5 of complications due to cancer. Born on March 16, 1945, Ted was the second of two children born to Ted and Diana Freeland. He was always an optimistic man who found the best in everyone. He worked as a salesman for many years at Gayfer's and managed to develop lasting friendships with his customers over that time. He then had a second career as a car salesman, where his outgoing personality once again resulted in earning his customers' confidence and trust.

He loved the women in his life- his mother, his sister, his wife, and his daughters. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, and father. His family was his touchstone; if he could at least make contact with his family members each day, then everything was in its place and the world was good.

He is predeceased by his parents. His surviving family members include his sister, Diana Freeland; his wife of 43 years, Susie Edwards Freeland; and his three daughters, Wendi Freeland Gregory (Bob), Kelly Freeland Espinosa (Alfred) and Kasey Freeland Watkins (Jamie). His beloved grandchildren, Beau and AnnaMarie Gregory, Trinity and Trace Espinosa, and Morgan and Reagan Watkins, all mourn his passing.

Visitation will be held at White Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd., on Sunday, February 9, 2014, at 1:30 PM. The funeral will be at 3:00 PM, with a graveside service following.

In lieu of flowers, Ted requested that memorial donations be given to the LAMP Jr. Varsity and Varsity Softball Program, in which two of his granddaughters currently play. This well-deserving program would greatly appreciate any donations.
