The following information was provided by our classmate Ernestine Knight Class of 1962

I have just been notified of the passing of our classmate Judy Davis.

... Judy Davis Carrell was Born June 6, 1943 in Tuskegee, Alabama, and died July 6, 2014 in Hueytown, Alabama at her son Eric’s house.  She was 71.  She had her first brain surgery at the age of 20 on July 4, 1963.  Her husband, Cleo, died on July 4, 2012, 3 weeks after my husband.  They were extremely close friends.  Judy had over 20 brain surgeries over the period of 51 years.  For many years the benign tumor was inoperable and they put in shunts to drain the fluid off it, and then in 1986 George Wallace flew her on his private jet to Mayo’s Clinic where a Dr. Patrick Kelly removed the tumor for the first time.  It returned in 2006 and they went to New York to a hospital where Dr. Kelly was then working and he did another surgery.  When Judy was in her 20’s she was a secretary to both George & Lurleen Wallace at the state capitol.  Judy’s service was at 2 p.m. Wed., July 9, 2014, at St. James Sanctuary
