Nell Thornton (1943-2012) - Class Of 1961

Nell Thornton, 68, was called to be an angel of God on February 5th, 2012. Her cheerful personality and bright smile will be missed by many from Birmingham, Alabama, to the shores of Walton County where she lived in Seagrove Beach fo the remaining years of her life.

Nell survived life as the baby sister to four big brothers. Her two sons, Robert B Watson of Birngham and Preston Earl Watson of Pell City, Alabama, survive Nell as well as her brothers, Rube Thornton of Montgomery, JOseph Thornton of Leesburg, Florida, and Charles N Thorton of Seagrove Beach; and many nephews and nieces.

Her parents, Reuben and Nell Thornton of Montgomery and her brother, Hugh Thornton of Destin, precede her in death.

A memorial celebration of life was held in her honor at 10am, February 18th, 2012, at The Camel Club, 296 East Hewett Road in Santa Rosa Beach. A private service for the family followed.
