Hal was one of my favorite people in high school, in college at the University of Alabama, and later when I moved to Atlanta, Georgia. He and his wife, Cece, even showed up many years later for the funeral of my guardian. I then lost contact with this dynamic and energized soul who truly knew how to enjoy life. Through him, I learned a lot about friendship...how to be kind to another person's hopes and cherish their dreams for them. Hal had a delicious sense of fun and never missed an opportunity to make me smile. My thoughts are with his family.
Thank goodness for Hal Barnard! He was the only boy who would date me at the beginning of my senior year. Seems the others had a "boycott" going. He was so much fun, really up until he passed away. He was one of our wonderful "characters". I believe everybody remembers Hal.
