Louise A. "Tonia" Sizemore (Darby) (1941-2015) - Class Of 1959

Louise (Tonia) Sizemore Darby, age 74, stepped into the arms of her Lord and Master, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 26th. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Louise Sizemore.

A lifelong resident of Montgomery, she attended Cloverdale Elementary and Junior High and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School where she was editor of the school paper, "The Blue and White".

In 1959, she attended Howard College, now Samford University, and graduated from Huntingdon College with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught school until shortly after her first child was born.

Tonia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a caring friend to many. Some of her favorite pastimes included sewing, reading, writing in her journal as well as writing notes of encouragement, and traveling.

Tonia so loved the Lord Jesus and it showed through her every action. She especially loved serving Him through First Baptist Church. Her life and presence will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving family members are her husband, Leon Darby; daughter Louise (Mark) Dudle of Woodstock, Georgia; son, Ross Darby, and daughter, Elizabeth (Bill) Hardin of Montgomery. Also, she leaves 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Hannah, and Samuel Dudle and Caroline and Will Hardin.

A celebration of life service will be held for her on Sunday afternoon, June 7th in the Stakely Sanctuary of First Baptist Church with a visitation in the church parlor from 2 until 3 with the service beginning at 3.
