Jane Ware Paterson Cope was born in Montgomery, Alabama to Julius P. Paterson and his wife Emily H. Gentry Paterson on 30 Sept 1937. The family lived on Narrow Lane Road at the time which was considered out in the country. Her sister was Judith "Judy" Paterson who graduated just one year ahead of her from Lanier. Jane W. Paterson Cope graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama in the class of 1956. She married in Montgomery in January of 1961 following graduation from college. She died in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on 14 June 1995 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama with the Paterson family members. This is the Paterson family that began the famous Rosemont Garden Florist located in Montgomery, Alabama. Her brother, Jim, ran the florist before his death.
