Mary "Molly" Brooks Ledyard (McGough) (1918-2010) - Class Of 1936

McGOUGH, Mary "Molly" Led­yard passed away on Mon­day, February 8, 2010 after a lengthy illness. She was 91.  Her parents were Robert Eli­sha Ledyard and Fannie Lou Brooks Ledyard.  She was pre­deceased by her husband, Joseph M. McGough;  broth­er, Thomas Ledyard; and sis­ter, Lucy Simmons.  She is sur­vived by a son, Joseph "Joe" McGough, Jr. of Montgom­ery; a daughter, Mary Helen Mahan (Kenneth) of Mont­gomery; two brothers, Robert E. Ledyard, Jr. of Huntsville and W. Morgan Ledyard (Da­nella) of Montgomery; a grandson, Kenneth E. "Gene" Mahan, Jr. of Denver, CO; a granddaughter, Teresa Jack­son (Cameron) of Tallahas­see, FL; two great grandsons, Emerson and Pierce Jackson; and many nieces and neph­ews.  Mrs. McGough was born in Beaumont, Texas and moved with her parents to Montgomery shortly thereaf­ter.  She was a lifelong mem­ber of St. John's Episcopal Church where she was involv­ed in many activities and functions.  She attended Capitol Heights Elementary and Junior High Schools, and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School.  She attended the University of Alabama. She was a member of Moth­er's Circle, the Honeysuckle Garden Club, and The Socie­ty of Mayflower Descendants.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the library.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribu­tion to The Macular Degener­ation Foundation.
