Darleen Price Longcrier, age 62, a longtime resident of Montgomery, Alabama, went to her heavenly home on November 10, 2008 after an extended illness. Darleen was predeceased by an infant son, Benjamin; her mother, Loyce Nelson Price; her father, Walter Gulledge Price and her younger brother, Tommy Joe Price.
Darleen is survived by Ken, her husband of 35 years; her son, ‘’Hal’’ Longcrier (Ken, Jr.) of Montgomery, AL; her son, Adam Longcrier of Millbrook, AL; a sister, Patricia Rhodes (Ronald) of Montgomery, AL; a brother, Donny Price (Beth) of Centre, AL; a nephew, Ron Rhodes (Sally) of Deatsville, AL; a nephew, Chris Rhodes of Montgomery, AL; a nephew, Michael Rhodes (Laura) of Deatsville, AL; a niece, Cindy Price Hayes (Woody) of Greenville, SC; a nephew, Matthew Price of Tampa, FL and a nephew, Mark Price (Gina) of Gadsden, AL.
Darleen worked nearly all her life starting with ½ day Distributive Education Classes her junior year (1963) at Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama. She was fortunate to always work for outstanding businessmen of good character who appreciated her ever cheerful demeanor, loyalty, hard work and ‘’people’’ skills. Her sweet voice and omnipresent smile were assets at the real estate and appraisal offices of Mr. Lester Hall and Mr. Paul Corwin in the early years and the law offices of Mr. Richard Jordan, LLC for over 25 years. She was a loving mother, devoted wife, baseball ‘’team mom’’, and true friend to all the friends of her husband and sons.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Al Butler, Mr. Phil Butler, Mr. Richard Kennamer, Mr. Jim Lee, Mr. Kurt Mckinnon and Mr. Randy Myers. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Mr. Richard Jordan.
Darleen’s family would like to extend special gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Doctor Keith Thompson & Nurse Richard Prayther and all the‘’angels of the light’’ volunteers at the Montgomery Cancer Center; Doctor Randy Brinson and Doctor John Christein (UAB).
Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 12,2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Faith & Grace Hospice. Leak-Memory Chapel Directing.

Darlene was obviously a wonderful wife to our classmate Ken, and a wonderful mother. She was no doubt loved and respected by everyone that knew her. We had a period of time together when our children attended Saint James School. That you Lord for the life of this good woman. God rest her soul and bless her family.
