Philip "Phil" J. Fischer (-2006) - Class Of 1959

Philip J. Fischer died on Friday, August 25, 2006. 

Mr. Fischer graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1959.  He was awarded the first golf scholarship given by the University of Alabama and graduated with a degree in business. 

Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Montgomery on Sunday, August 27, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Karl Stegall officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Mt. Gilead Cemetery, adjacent to the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church on Elmore County Rd 80. 

He is survived by his wife, Camilla Pridgen Fischer, one son, Dr. Philip J. Fischer, II and wife, Delia Christian of Birmingham; two daughters, Kimberly (Radney) Ramsey of Montgomery, Katharine (Mark) Harris of Montgomery; two sisters, Kitty (Rod) Stasyszyn of Verbena, Al., Jean (Joe) Moore of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Barbara Ann Ramsey, John Bushman Ramsey, Lester Hawthorne Ramsey, Charles Andrew II Harris, Katharine Walraven Harris, William Philip Fischer, Lewis Christian Fischer, and Thomas Christian Fischer.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Dr. J. Max Austin, Jr., Michael W. Miller, Robert Broach, Dr. Sam Fischer, John S. Bowman, Ruben Thorton, Richard A. Ball, Jr., and Joe Scott.

Memorials may be made to Big Oak Ranch, First United Methodist Church, or one's favorite charity.
