June Alice Weeks (King) (1936-2016) - Class Of 1954

June Alice Weeks King, age 79, left this heavenly earth to live in eternal peace on September 23, 2016.

Services at Leak Memory on Tuesday September 27. Visitation 10-11 a.m., service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Graveside following at Forest Hills Cemetary in Snowden, AL.

She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Joseph "Jobie" King. Also proceeded in death by her wonderful parents Lehman and Voncile Weeks. She is survived by her sister Barbara (Kenny) Law and brother Lehman Alan Weeks. She leaves behind her 4 adoring children, Janese (Al) Caraway, Andy (Lisa) Blankenship, Allen (Dodie) Blankenship, Jenifer (Paul) Houlton, and stepson Brian (Buttons) King. Also left behind are her beautiful grandchildren, Jessica (Justin), Drew (Lauren), Rayf, John Allen, Justin (Hillary), Tyler, Allison, Trent, Davis, Trevor, Matt, Blake, and Emily. Her precious great grandchildren Patrick, Andrew, Gabby, Madison, and Tanner.

Mrs King was born in Troy, Alabama, September 26, 1936. She attended Sidney Lanier High School and the University of Alabama. She retired in 1999 from the State of Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners as Executive Secretary. She was a devoted and dedicated member of Frazer United Methodist Church. She loved playing bridge. She was also an active Emblem Club member with the Auburn Opelika Emblem Club.

From 1999-2000 she served as the National Supreme President of Emblem Clubs, where she traveled all over the United States touching so many more lives. This was one of her proudest years where she traveled city to city with her dear friend Billie. Her work with so many charitable organizations prove what a giving sweet angel she was. She is now flying with the angels and her beloved Jobie. We love you and will forever miss you Mama, and Granny.

Pallbearers will be: Drew Blankenship, John Allen Blankenship, Rayf Caraway, Tyler Blankenship, Justin Welch, Justin Houlton, Blake Pilcher, and Trent Blankenship. Honarary Pallbearers will be: Patrick Hamilton, Andrew Welch, Trevor Blankenship, Davis Houlton, Tanner Vance, and Matt Pilcher.
