Barbara Jean Faulkner Jacoby, 78, passed away on October 17, 2011 following a brief illness. Mrs. Jacoby was the daughter of Martin and Sylvania Faulkner of Snowdoun, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Jacoby and her son Dale Jacoby, as well as her sisters Carolyn Bailey and Francis Cutts. She is survived by her daughter Diane Carol Jacoby and her son Bradley Glenn Jacoby, as well as her brothers William and Edward Faulkner, and 5 grandchildren. Mrs. Jacoby was a long time resident of Montgomery, Alabama, graduating from Sidney Lanier High School in 1951. Following the death of her husband, she devoted her life to raising her children as both mother and breadwinner. When that task was accomplished, she spent her remaining years helping others as often as possible. Following a private burial ceremony at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery, the family will receive friends on Sat., Oct 22nd beginning at 12:00 pm at Southern Memorial Funeral Home with a Memorial Service following at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to Feed the Children Charity, the American Leukemia Society or to any educational charity.
