Betty Jean Spiers Layton, 84, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on December 6, 1929, the daughter of Ernest Norris Spiers, Jr., and Mae Wilson Spiers. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Robert Lee Layton.

Mrs Layton is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara L. Gann (Stephen R. Gann) of Prattville, Alabama, and Janice L. Suggs (William A. Suggs, III) of Pensacola, Florida, and three grandsons, Benjamin L. Suggs, Christopher R. Suggs, and Matthew S. Gann.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, followed by burial at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 1 PM at Leak Memory.
