June Sellers Nichols, 77, a resident of Mountain Brook, Alabama, passed away August 15, 2010. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 18, at Canterbury United Methodist Church at 11:00 am.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Nell and Clyde Sellers, brother John Sellers and husband Fred A. Nichols.

She is survived by her children, Fred Nichols, Jr., of Houston; Nancy and Paul Roberts, of Mountain Brook; Grandchildren, Rebecca Roberts and Richard Roberts (Lindsay); sisters Sally Sellers Mosher, of Birmingham; Anne and Junie Pierce, of Montgomery.

June graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1950 and Auburn University where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She was a devoted member of Canterbury Church and co-founder of Canterbury Kindergarten, where she taught for many years. Junewas active in the Brown Bag Project, the United Methodist Women, the Kappa Delta Alumni Association, the Antiquarians, the DAR and the UDC.

June was honored as Outstanding Volunteer at Children's Hospital. She received the Elizabeth Nesbitt Simpson Service Award and Kappa Delta Order of the Emerald.
