Isabel Ledyard (Edmond) (1932-2014) - Class Of 1950

WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Isabel L. Edmond died August 30, 2014 at her home. She was born in 1932 in Montgomery, AL to late James P. and Isabella Ledyard. She attended Lanier High School in Montgomery, AL, Randolph Macon Women's College in Lynchburg, VA, and University of Alabama and was a member of Tri-Delt Sorority.

Isabel taught school and was the owner/teacher of The Little Red Schoolhouse. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro. She was an active member of DAR, UDC, and Burke County Genealogy; member of Descendants of the Mayflower, First Families of Georgia, Colonial Dames Society, Tuesday Bridge Club, and Ladies Golf Association at the Waynesboro Country Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Ledyard.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Edmond; 4 children, Janie Diffly (Bard) of Cumming, GA, Robert Edmond (Becky) of Montgomery, AL, Mary Ann Mead (Joe) of Waynesboro, GA, and Nancy Vazquez (Earl) of Orlando, FL; 11 grandchildren, Jim Diffly, Isabelle Morris (David), Grace Diffly, Edmond Diffly, Robbie Edmond, Jeremy Edmond, Sarah Mead, Roy Mead, David Mead, Luke Mead, and Jessica Vazquez; and 3 great grandchildren, Noah Diffly, Emma Diffly, and Savannah Edmond.

Funeral Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, September 2 at First Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro with visitation one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall. Rev. Jim Knightl Home will officiate.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Graveside Services will be 2pm, Wednesday, September 3 at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL.
