Ernest Lamar "Buddy" Hawk (1931-2010) - Class Of 1950


HAWK, Ernest Lamar, "Buddy", passed away Monday, October 25, 2010 at Elmore Community Hospital after a brief illness. Buddy is at peace after 79 colorful years. During his remarkable life he was a dairy farmer, a rodeo champion, a country western singer, a PGA golf professional, a skilled marksman and hunter, a breeder and trainer of hunting dogs and a force of nature unique on this earth. Buddy was the last of six siblings and leaves behind his wife, Kathryn Moses Hawk; his sons, Leon and Mike; two daughters, Roxanne Holland and Vivian Corley. He also leaves five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Elmore County Humane Shelter. Leak-Memory Chapel Directing www.leak-mc.com

Larry D. Skelton (1961)

What an entertaining guy this was.  His son, Leon, and I had some good times playing softball together.  I know Buddy will be missed by many.
