Kenneth Stowers Collier (1932-2013) - Class Of 1950

Kenneth S. (Ken) Collier, 82, of Hope Hull, AL passed away on Saturday, October 5th surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents James I. Collier and Ellis Carter Collier; his brothers Jimmy Collier of Hayneville and Carter Collier of Montgomery. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Betty B. Collier; his sons, Don Collier (Cindy) and Art Collier (Tandy Truitt); daughter, Mary Louise Corley (Bret); his brother, W.E "Bill" Duncan; his sister, Mary Otis Hill (Sam); his brother-in-law, Bubba Braswell (Gusta) of Goldsboro, NC; his sister-in-law, Carolyn B. Brown of Thomasville, GA; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

After serving in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict he returned to Montgomery and worked in the cattle business for over 54 years. He was an avid golfer, baseball pitcher and played fast pitch softball well into his 50's.

There will be a memorial service at Southern Memorial, Thursday October 10th at 2pm with visitation 1 hr prior. A private family burial will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Montgomery Humane Shelter or any charity of your choice .
