FORRESTER, Nancy Knighten, 79, of Montgomery, died Monday, January 10, 2011 after an extended illness. Visitation will be Thursday, January 13 from 5-7 p.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel with Rev. Michael Howell officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Forrester was preceded in death by her husband, Tharpe Forrester, Jr., her parents, Simon Peter and Mary Eva Knighten, and her sisters, Eva Knighten DiDonato and Edna Knighten Smit. She is survived by her daughters, Darby Forrester, of Montgomery, and Scottie Forrester Vickery, of Birmingham, her son-in-law Steve Vickery, and her grandchildren, Will and Katie Vickery, all of Birmingham. A former teacher and advertising copywriter, Mrs. Forrester wrote resolutions for the Alabama Legislature for nearly 20 years before her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. The family is grateful for the love and compassion shown by the staffs of Waterford Place and John Knox Manor and by Ida Miller and Latanya Smith.
